Public Relation

Public Relation is an relevant element for the commercilisation of the product "Environmental Science", as not only the scientific results are of great importance but also their presentation. Aim of the public relation is therefore the improved communication between scientists, public but also with contracting authorities/cooperation partners and to forward the publicity and profile of the insitute, linked with the market-orientated presentation and dispersion of offers, products and services.

Thus, the UFT presents this website with the UFT-concept, tasks, aims, methods & competences of the entire institute, of the single scientific units, departments, events and news. One task of the public relation position, which was established in August 2003, is the permanent extension and up-date of the UFT-website.

Furtheron, the UFT is presented with selected projects at national and international exhibitions and conferences Consequently, part of the acitivities of the public relation is the preparation for the attendance of exhibitions and conferences, especially the preparation of information material (information-flyer and posters), the organisation of exhibition stalls and exhibits and the preparation of press releases.

As the scientific community is not the only target group of the UFT, which also quests explicitely the contact to the public, visitor tours are organised within "days of the open house" where the research work of the entire institute is presented in platform presentations and exhibitions. Furtheron, results of the research projects are not only published in scientific journals, but also in the daily press (e.g. "Weser Kurier").

An intensive contact to schools exists now for a long time. Groups of pupils are invited to visit the UFT, where information about environmental research and natural scientific studies is provided. In addition, traineeships within the different departments are offered and school projects (e.g. "Jugend forscht") are supported.

The UFT-Showcase in the entry hall of the UFT informs visitors and UFT-staff about recent UFT-research projects and scientific issues.
